Kowa Genesis/XD 10×33 Details
These 10×33 Kowa Genesis XD binoculars make an excellent companion to the wildlife observer, hunter or even some birders looking for a relatively small instrument that will deliver superior quality views and a high level of image detail over longer ranges.
Whilst slightly larger than the normal 32 mm on a mid-sized binocular, the 33 mm lenses along with the roof prism design enable Kowa to produce a compact shape that is ideal for traveling or for those who also carry other equipment like a camera, rifle or even a guidebook. The downside is that the reduced surface area means that they capture less light than the lenses on a full-sized binocular and thus this in combination with the fairly powerful 10x magnification means that these are best used when the amount of available light is not a limiting factor.
For a mid-sized binocular with a 10x magnification, these have a very good field of view, making it easier to find objects of interest whilst scanning the horizon. The 15mm of eye relief is also very good for this class of binocular, however, there may be some eyeglass wearers that may not find this amount sufficient. If this is a concern, it is perhaps worth looking at the 8.5×44 Genesis XD that has a very impressive 18.3mm.
